Chapter 2 - No Fear Involved

The number one element that determines whether we experience pregnancy and birth according to original intent is not whether we birth at home or in the hospital, whether we give birth vaginally or by c-section, whether we birth with or without intervention or medication, whether or not we are highly educated about our bodies and birth, or any other given issue.

While all the above and more can play a part, the greatest determining factor in whether we experience original intent in birth is whether or not fear is present.

The Lord’s response to my question about what birth was like before sin sums it up just like that.

“There was no fear involved.”

What was the greatest, most immediate, tangible consequence of sin’s entrance into the world? Simply put, for the first time, fear became a part of mankind’s existence.

It all began when Adam and Eve chose to believe a lie rather than the truth. But first, they had to hear the lie, a requirement which the devil was eager to fulfill, because he is the father of lies. Anytime he speaks there is deception in his words. There is no truth in him! (John 8:44)

Fear and faith operate by the same spiritual laws. They both come by hearing. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God which is the truth, while fear comes by hearing the contradictions to the Word, which are lies. (Romans 10:17)

If you are living controlled by fear, somewhere, somehow, you are hearing and believing a lie, which means you are also in unbelief about something God has said, because He cannot lie.

Wherever you pinpoint an area of unbelief you also identify an area of fear.

To deal with the fear, we must locate its source, which is the lie we are believing, to uproot it and replace it with the truth.
