TERMS OF AGREEMENT FOR DOULA SERVICES BY JACKIE WIEBE (FULL PACKAGE)

​

As your doula, I am independent and self-employed. I am working for you, not a hospital, birth center, or your healthcare provider.

​

BEFORE LABOR:

I will meet with you a minimum of 3 times depending on your needs or how late in the pregnancy you hire me. I will be on call 24/7 for you starting at 37 weeks up to birth.

​

DURING LABOR:

Please contact me at any sign of labor starting, even if I do not immediately need to come. This will help me be better ready to walk out the door as soon as we determine labor is real, and minimize the chance of missing your birth in case of fast labor. Please keep in mind my driving time as you are deciding when to ask me to come. Failure to attend because I was not contacted in sufficient time will not be a valid reason for a refund. 

 

When labor begins, I will typically come to your home or meet you at your birthing location (if that's not at home) when contractions have been fairly close together in a consistent pattern for at least one hour, just so we can be sure it's real labor. However, if there are other sure signs of labor such as water breaking, and you feel you need my presence earlier, I may come before labor is well established. My role is to help you through every stage. There is no pressure from me to make a certain amount of progress within a certain amount of time.

I will not leave you during labor except for restroom/snack breaks, if you need some time alone with your husband/partner, in the case of a very long labor when I may need a nap so that I'm able to continue providing quality support, or if a personal, immediately urgent emergency were to arise.​​

AFTER BIRTH:

I will stay with you for a minimum of 2 hours immediately following delivery, and in most cases longer. I will check in with you via text/call 1-3 days after birth, and again 7-10 days postpartum. This may or may not include an in-home visit, depending highly on how much help and support you are getting from family and/or friends. I will continue to be available to answer questions and provide support via call/ text/ msg as needed up to 3 weeks postpartum. If you'd like, we can also reflect on your birth together postpartum. You can ask any questions you may have about the experience, and I may be able to help you remember details that you might have forgotten or been unaware of.

AS A DOULA, I DO NOT:

​

• Give medical advice or perform clinical tasks, such as checking blood pressure, heart tones, vaginal exams, etc. My role is to provide educational, physical, emotional, and spiritual support.

​

• Make decisions for you. I will help you get the information necessary to make informed decisions. I will also remind you or bring to your attention if there is a departure from your birth plan.

​

• Speak to medical staff on your behalf without your prior agreement and knowing what you want. You or your partner are responsible to inform clinical staff of your desires and either give or deny consent to any proposed action.

​

CLIENT PRIVACY:

Your privacy is of my utmost priority. I do not share private information or post any pictures of your baby online without your permission. Please let me know at our prenatal meetings if you have any specific privacy concerns.

​

FEES:

The fee for the services described here is to be paid as follows:

​

• $1,000 with $500 non-refundable holding deposit. Remaining $500 is due by 37 weeks. Once deposit is received along with this signed contract, your due date will be reserved.

​​

• If you hire me at 37 weeks or later, the full amount ($1,000) is due in full upon signing contract, at which point your due date will be reserved.

​

• Cash, Zelle, Venmo, and CashApp are accepted. Please choose a family/friend/private/gift option if applicable to help me avoid transaction fees.

​

REFUND TERMS:

In the unusual and unlikely event that I would be unable to attend your birth:

​

• If failure to attend is due to my error, you will receive a 50% refund ($500).

​

• If failure to attend is due to circumstances beyond both parties' control, such as extremely severe weather or such a fast birth that I don't have reasonable time to make it, there will be no refund.

​

• If failure to attend is due to you (client) or your partner not contacting me in sufficient time, there will be no refund.

 

• If I am unable to attend and we have arranged for a backup doula who attends, there will be no refund.

 

• Fees do not change based on birth outcome.
